I don’t know how I am going to get these bills paid. Tears started to swell in her eyes, a knot formed in her throat and her breathing became raspy. She found it harder each pay period to pay bills, by groceries and get gas. She already had 2 loans that were taking a big chunk of her pay check each pay period and now she was back to putting her bank account in the negative every month.
Amanda didn’t know what to do. The tears broke like a flood, she couldn’t control the sobs and she couldn’t catch her breath. The struggles were becoming too much for her to bare, she prayed and prayed she just didn’t feel like she was being heard. Amanda knew she was growing closer to God, her relationship in her opinion was getting stronger. She just needed God to show her some sort of sign that he was hearing her and that her breakthrough was coming soon.
Amanda decided to pray and fast for discernment. She wanted to clear her mind and ask Jesus to come in and just talk with her. She wanted clarity and wanted to hear from God. Once Amanda spent her time praying, she felt more spiritually connected. She felt happier and stronger and she heard God saying Believe In Me.
Amanda paid what bills she could this pay period and of course the tears came but she fought them off. She heard God say again Believe In Me. She decided to take a little of the money she had for a bill and get a little food that she could eat off of for the week as well as take lunch for work. She was able to make a payment arrangement for the bill but she didn’t know how she was going to pay the bill.
The week was pretty good for Amanda, she had lunch the entire week, she was even able to eat at home. However she was concerned by the end of the week how she would make it through next week. She heard God saying Believe In Me. Amanda cleared her mind and reminded herself that she was showing little faith and sinning at the same time to worry about what tomorrow would bring.
Amanda went to church, put it on the alter and prayed for God to provide her needs. She heard God saying Believe In Me and she felt herself relax. The Pastor’s sermon was titled “Faith The Size of a Mustard Seed”. She felt the entire time the message her pastor spoke of was directed at her. She kept hearing God say Believe In Me.
Monday and Tuesday came and went and Amanda was still eating off of the food she purchased last week. The bill collectors hadn’t called so far this week. When she got home Wednesday afternoon before she went to her apartment she decided to check her mail. She grabbed everything from the mailbox and put it in her purse.
She decided to fix her something to eat, take her shower and settle down. She realized she didn’t go through the mail and took it out of her purse. Amanda opened a letter from an attorney’s office, thinking to herself, who do I owe now. When she opened it and began reading, she started shouting. Enclosed in the letter was a check from an attorney from a lawsuit. The letter stated it was a refund from a company she had done business with in the past. The company charged administration fees that they weren’t suppose to charge.
Amanda couldn’t believe it, she just kept hearing Believe In Me, Believe In Me. She shouted and praised God. She couldn’t believe how God had moved on her behalf, she was so in awe of him. The way God had provided just as she had prayed he would had Amanda on her knees.
Believe In Me, she just kept hearing those words. Amanda thanked God and vowed to share her testimony about his goodness in her life, how his grace had kept her. Can you hear God speaking telling you;
Believe In Me
