The phone rang, Tina looked at the number; not recognizing it, she almost didn’t answer. Hi sexy gorgeous queen, this is Cole, how are you. She smiled at the greeting. Hi Cole, how are you. I’m great he answered, they exchanged greetings and conversed a few minutes. Well make sure you lock my number in gorgeous I would like to get to know you if that’s ok. Ok, sure she responded I’ll do that, you have a good night.
Tina went through the dating app just to see if there was anyone new but no one really caught her attention. Her phone rang and when she answered, she smiled at that familiar greeting. Hello gorgeous the voice responded, she smiled it was Cole. They talked for a few minutes, he told her yesterday he had to work at his part time job this weekend. He was planning to go to a movie tomorrow and asked if she would like to join him. She didn’t hesitate, sure she said. They talked and decided what they were going to see and what time.
As Tina got ready for her date, she took extra care with her hair and what she was wearing, she wanted to look sexy, cute, beautiful and gorgeous all in one. When she turned into the parking lot her phone rang, it was him, she recognized the number now. Hi, she answered, hi gorgeous, have you made he asked. Yes I am turning in now. I can’t wait to see that smile he said, I am waiting for you inside, ok she said as she smiled, I’m parking now.
Tina walked into the theater and he met her as soon as she walked in. He gave her a tight hug and they both smiled. Tina shivered inside at the hug and he smelled sooooo good. Would you like anything he asked, just a sprite she said. They chatted a little while waiting in line to get her a sprite. As they walked to the actual screen they walked side by side, still chatting but when they walked inside he stopped and let her walk in 1st.
Oh my my, she heard him say but didn’t hear the rest of what he said. She turned around huh she said, what did you say. He looked puzzled, oh I didn’t say anything. You were saying something she stated, oh it was nothing he said. Now she was puzzled but she turned around and kept walking and then she heard him mumble something again. She turned again, are you saying something to me? He smiled, oh I was just saying where do you want to sit. Oh she said um it really doesn’t matter, do you have a preference, not really he said.
They sat a couple of rows back from the screen. They were still chatting, enjoying the conversation getting to know each other in between the previews. During the movie they moved closer to one another, Tina smiled and couldn’t help but inhale his cologne. He smelled so good, she shivered again shook her to try to shake it off. She laughed at herself inside. When the movie was over he walked her to her vehicle, they hugged and said good night.
They talked when they got home for about an hour, she couldn’t believe how they hit off. He told her he had to confess before they got off the phone that as she walked into the movie in front of him he did say something but didn’t realize he was talking out loud. He was amazed at how gorgeous she was in person but as she walked in front of him and he saw how she was shaped especially her back end he couldn’t help himself but she is so sexy. She blushed from ear to ear and thanked him for the compliment.
He asked her out again and she accepted with pleasure. They actually talked on the phone and texted one another almost every day. Tina hadn’t realized it had been a couple of days since she had been on the app and without even hesitating, she shrugged the thought off. They had been going out for about a month now and were really admitting to each other that they really liked each other.
They were dating strong and were admitting they had feelings for each other. He had told her that he was looking for his queen at the beginning but she was looking for someone to kick it with, just hang out with. However, she told him she had to admit that now, she was changing her mind. She realized being with him she now wanted more. They decided they wanted to take the step forward to a relationship but after about 2 weeks things started to slow down between them.
He seemed to be busy all the time even though he had switched his schedule from nights to days. She had told him it seemed like he was neglecting her and they weren’t spending quality time together. They had even sat down and had a conversation to try and get back on the right track. They just didn’t seem to be able to get it together. They would talk, spend time together and it would get right back out of hand.
Tina let it really get her down at 1st and then she realized, I am a better, stronger and more confident person now. I would have rather taken that chance and gotten to know someone that made me feel the way he did than to not have had that experience at all. It had been 2 days since she had talked to him and she had finally made up in her mind that enough was enough. He would always say he was working so he could get a new place but she felt that he was seeing someone else.
Tina’s phone rang, it was Cole. Hey beautiful, as usual he acted like there was nothing wrong. They made plans for dinner but she told him she would meet him, her daughter is sick and she was going to check on her afterwards. He told her he would love to go with her, well she wouldn’t want to meet you while she’s sick she responded. My daughter would never forgive me if I brought you over now.
Tina got ready for dinner and decided she wasn’t going to put herself through any more unnecessary drama. She deserved, DEMANDED more from any man that felt he wanted any of her time. She took extra care in her appearance once again, she wanted to end this date even better than the 1st one started. She was going let this be the last time they would see each other. Cole either had someone else in his life or he had too much going on that he couldn’t balance work, woman and life.
He walked up to her truck when she parked with a huge smile on his face. He opened the door and reached for her hand to help her out of the truck. She took his hand and he pulled her into an embrace like he really missed her, hey bae, my gorgeous nubian queen. I missed you so much bae, you just don’t know he said and he leaned down and kissed her. She tried to act as normal as possible, I missed you too she said.
It was hard to maintain during dinner but she managed. They walked out of the restaurant and he walked her to her vehicle, bae call me when you get home. If it’s ok with you I want to come over and spend more time with you. As she took in a deep breathe, she smiled and kissed him. I thank you, for the encouragement you’ve given me and the inspirational words. You’ve shown me that it’s ok to love again and thanks to you I’m ready to love again. I just can’t go through this roller coaster with you anymore. She felt sadness and hurt but empowered all at the same time.
She was taking her 1st step towards loving herself. He had shown her an inner strength she didn’t realize she had. She had forgotten the strong independent woman she used to be. He looked at her strangely, are you serious he asked. Yes, she answered, you’re not ready for a relationship and you’re certainly not ready for a woman like me. When I love, I love hard and I love with my all. I want to be with someone that will love me that same way, someone that will put me 1st. I want to be with someone that I can live, laugh and love with. Someone that can allow me, show me, help me to Finally-Breathe.
