Life is full of little distractions. Be mindful not to get caught up from God’s divine plan for you.
Thank God it’s Friday! My plan for the evening was to go home, unwind and catch up on some reading and spiritual studying and then work on some of my marketing for my clients.
The first thing I did was make a call to a contact off of a dating site I recently was messaging. I became interested in the person by some of the things we had discussed in sending each other messages back and forth. In my mind I was considering maybe this was someone God could be sending in my life to help me reach my goals. The conversation lasted over an hour, I was not that impressed and felt like I really wasted my time, he was a Distraction.
The next thing I did was try and divert my energy and attention so I decided to check my emails. I saw an email from Carnival Cruise Line and started looking at cruises. It’s a couple of hours later and I have yet to do any studying, reading, working on Marketing, etc. Now once again I allowed something else to become a Distraction.
The next morning after my connect group prayer call I read my daily devotional and was just laying there thinking about my encounter from yesterday. I was still distracted from all the things I had planned to do like work on my marketing for my clients, do some reading and some spiritual studying. I was about to get up and get ready for my hair appt and my son’s lovely girlfriend called so I could talk to him. I was so distracted that my conversation with my son didn’t go very well. We did end up talking and clearing the air but the Distractions cost me so much that I won’t be able to get back.
That Sat morning, I could very clearly hear Jesus whispering, be careful of the Distractions. By the end of the day on that Saturday I had another appt that had come and I did not even head home until about 11:30pm. I still had not even touched the list of things I needed to work on from that Friday.
In two days the Distractions I allowed to take place had cost me time with God, work on my own business, peace and joy. I was late for an appt that caused me to be late leaving the appt that caused me to be later doing other things. I keep seeing this devotional God gave me, it said ” submit to the Lord even when you are very busy and tired”. I realized that I was busy doing nothing, busy doing every thing but what God had already told me to do.
Be careful and mindful when God has you on assignment not to let the devil Distract you. Be mindful of Distractions in life the Distractions can detour you from what God has for you.
