Resurrection Day

I became very interested in the meaning of Resurrection Day this past weekend, I know it’s the day we celebrate Christ rising from the dead.  I am thankful for how God speaks to me and Jesus encourages me.  As I read scripture and devotion for Resurrection Day, God gave me another meaning.

God showed me that I too had a resurrection day.  I was concerned at first because I wasn’t sure how to fully understand what God was giving me.  As I listened to Sunday service I was starting to hear God speak and provide discernment.

He then made it very clear in the scripture my pastor spoke about.  He had a specialist break down types of seeds and how they grow.  He also described the process the seeds go through.  I started to get excited about what God was showing me.

God showed me he planted me as a seed for his purpose.   There are two parts to a seed, the planter seed and feeder seed.  The planter seed is the root of the seed, it grows first to keep the plant rooted.  The feeder seed grows next to provide water and nutrients for the plant.

As a seed of God my roots were already planted firmly in his word and the feeder seed, devotion, spiritual guidance, worship was being fed occasionally.  I was growing at a slow pace in his word, the soil was not being properly nurtured.  I was shaken up, my leaves were turning brown, withering and starting to die.

I now know I was resurrected on 2/9/19 because God showed me the nourishment that I had been missing.  I received a wonderful afternoon of devotion, worship and praise.  He showed me even though my roots were already planted  sometimes you have to cultivate(dig up the soil around the roots to kill weeds and promote growth) the soil for a plant to grow properly.  God showed me because I was trying to keep my roots in the same unhealthily and under nourished soil, I wasn’t growing spiritually like I should have.

I couldn’t understand why it seemed like I was stuck and wasn’t going anywhere and now I understand.  I am in awe of how awesome God is and the way he showed me discernment was amazing.   To celebrate Resurrection Day for Christ by learning about my own, was truly a way to celebrate.

I am so grateful for my Resurrection Day!
