It was early morning and she could see the sun peaking through the blinds. She batted her eyes, moaned, and clinched them tightly as if the night would re-appear and she could go back to sleep. When she opened them again the sun was still peaking and the alarm was beeping letting her know it was time to get up.
She rolled to the edge of the bed and climbed to the floor. She stood for a moment as to allow recognition for her motor senses to catch up with her body but as she stood there, she thought to herself this was not my dream.
As a child she dreamed of waking each morning happy and kissing her husband good morning. She would get up and go to her children’s rooms in this gorgeous 2 story home and wake them up for breakfast.
She never imagined her dreams were so far off that the only part to be reality were the children. She didn’t really prepare for her dreams either because after all in her world they were just childhood dreams.
She snapped her self back to reality and dragged herself to the bathroom to begin getting ready for work. She thought to herself there has to be more to life than this. WHAT ARE MY DREAMS! I know my childish dreams are not reality but I do have a right to dream, surely this is not all there is to my life.
She felt sad to think there wasn’t be more out there than this. This thought made her want to go back to bed and just curl up under her covers. She realized she had to do something different for herself, she needed to do something to start living the life she deserved.
She looked at herself in the mirror and suddenly she felt teary eyed and she wanted to make herself look beautiful. She decided to get ready for work and put on a little make up. She thought I can google some classes or look for a new job or I can join a connect group with my church or I can do this or do that. She came up with a couple of ideas to entertain herself.
She suddenly froze in realization of what she was missing in her life. She began to cry and ask God to forgive her as she realized not one time did she acknowledge him first. She didn’t even put him in her dreams 1st as a child so how could her dreams be reality. She decided to go back into her bedroom and pray.
When she finished praying, she went back into her bathroom and she finished getting ready for work. She decided when she got home from work she would start her dreams all over with God 1st and then everything and everyone else. She thought to herself, WHAT ARE MY DREAMS! This time she asked silently, God what are my dreams and he answered back by asking my child “What Are Your Dreams”! You have but to ask and it shall be given.
What Are Your Dreams! Have you asked God for your dreams and have you believed in him faithfully by living your life in preparation for your dreams to become reality.
