Andre pulled in the parking lot beside her car and turned to look at her. Laura look, I know your married and I know you’re devoted to your husband. I also know you need a break, a chance to unwind and get your mind off things. My plan for this weekend is to be here for you as your friend. Look, come to the hotel with me no strings attached, I am not asking you to do anything. I am simply offering you an escape, a chance to have some time away. “Andre, I can’t”! Laura I promise you I am being sincere, there’s no hidden agenda, I just feel you need a break.
She let out a deep sigh, you’re right, I could use a break Andre. I feel so overwhelmed, I’m either angry, frustrated or down most of the time. He looked at her, I got you”, we can just talk or you can rest, whatever you need to do. She looked up at him, if it’s ok with you, I’ll follow you. Of course it’s ok, I want you to be comfortable, it’s about you. Andre opened the hotel room door for her; what would you like lady, music, movie or just relax? Music and a nice glass of wine usually relaxes me she responded. Music and wine it is, he selected his soulful playlist and fixed them both a glass of wine. Laura sat back on the large sofa, put her feet up and they started talking, sharing old times and new.
She woke up in his arms and looked up at him. She sat up, suddenly noticing she was a little too comfortable. Laura stretched and looked around, she jumped up startled. “Oh my God she cried”, “Laura”! “What Have You Done”! Andre jumped, what, what’s wrong he stammered. He looked at Laura bewildered, followed her gaze to the clock and then he knew. Oh God Laura, let me walk you down. She grabbed her things and headed for the door. I’m sorry he said, she smiled at him for what Andre, it’s not your fault we fell asleep. I guess I needed the break more than either of us realized.
He gave her a hug and opened her car door, please text me and let me know you are home and every thing is ok. “She smiled and started her car, I will and thank you Andre for tonight I did need it. “Laura, I’m serious, please let me know your’e ok”. Andre, I promise I will, then your’e welcome Laura and you be safe. Laura calmed down when she pulled into the garage, she felt Don was probably asleep on the couch anyway like he always is.
She walked in the house and surely enough he was exactly where she figured. She shook her head and walking into the bedroom, she texted Andre to let him know she was home and all was well. He texted her back, thank goodness, I’m sitting here waiting fully dressed in case I need to ride out. She texted lol, I appreciate you trying to be my knight in shining armor. Andre texted back, I will be what ever you need me to be, I will always be here for you.
Laura started the shower water and was about to get in when her phone went off. She quickly picked it up to keep from waking Don when she realized it was Andre. “Hey Lady, are you sure you’re ok he asked?” He didn’t even wait for her to say hello. Hi Andre, she felt herself smiling like a school girl, I’m positive, I’m fine, he’s asleep. “Wow”, there’s no way I would be asleep and you’re not home with me. Laura, I really enjoyed our night together, I’m glad you said yes. Andre, so am I, I really enjoyed it as well and I thank you again. I didn’t realized how much I needed the brake, the change, the attention.
Anytime my lady, anytime, get some rest and I will check on you tomorrow gorgeous. Hey, Andre called out to her, by the way I love those jeans you had on, you looked great, very sexy. Laura smiled from ear to ear, thank you sir, goodnight. Laura hung the phone up and got in the shower, thinking about her night with Andre. She wish she had stayed but the thought of what could’ve happened made her realize it’s good she didn’t. She shook the thought off and got out the shower. She looked at the phone, as she was drying off, she thought about calling back. She was so tired though she went straight to sleep without putting her phone on the charger.
Laura woke up blinking and covering her eyes, noticing the bedroom light was on. She looked up startled as she heard Don call her name, “Laura” She sat up, “What Did You Do” She frowned and tried to focus, Don was standing beside her looking straight at her. She shook her head to focus, what are you talking about. “What Did You Do”! She frowned and looked at him, “Don What the hell are you talking about”! She was getting aggravated, he knew she didn’t like for people to wake her up. She batted her eyes in an effort to focus again and she saw her phone in his hand.
Laura’s mind went wild, she looked at his face and she finally saw him clearly. He was crying, eyes blood shot red but she couldn’t tell if it was from crying or from anger. She didn’t know what to say or if there was anything to say. She realized instantly that she forgot to erase the messages, she was in such a hurry to go to sleep. They normally send messages over Facebook so she didn’t worry about having to erase them. “What Did You Do”, He said again and held the phone up in her face.
She took the phone out of his hand, Don it’s not what you think. Laura are you serious, we’re not going to do that. Is this supposed to be some type of payback? I can’t believe this, how could you. How long has this been going? You’ve been making me pay for my mistakes, when all along you were doing the same thing. I knew something was wrong when you left tonight, I just didn’t know why I got that feeling. You accuse me all the time of cheating when I’m not and turns out it was you whom was cheating.
